Books can Take You on Extraordinary Adventures

Books have been around for over a thousand years and have played a huge part in the recording of modern human history. When I pick up a book, I feel like I am picking up a part of history, regardless of it being fictional or not. Whether I pick up a book on strategy, war, adventure, hiking, fishing, or fiction; I know that when I finish that book, I am leaving with a new perspective on some aspect of my life and will grow as a person.

I am currently reading Book Two (The Two Towers) of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Books such as The Lord of the Rings as well as The Hobbit have taught me that anywhere worth going requires a journey that will likely come with many obstacles and perils that might require sacrifice. But in the end, the hero always prevails. You can watch the progression of the main characters throughout the story and see a little of yourself in them.

The imagery painted by J.R.R. Tolkien places me right in the book as if I was there. The imagery of the Misty Mountains and the golden color of Fall in the Lothlorien Forest is painted so clear in my head that it is as if I am experiencing this journey myself.

But in real life, I’m reading a book while leaning on a tree with both of my dogs’ side by side. The adventures that you read about in books might just inspire your own real-life adventures! It only takes one book to explore your imagination and see the world.

Books have a reputation for being expensive, and I admit that they can be. But stores often have sales where you can buy several books for very low price! In fact, if you check online, you can probably find a good sale online. Check out some Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals, you will for sure find some deals!

Back in high school when money was tight, I used to go to the Goodwill Bookstore, where all hard cover books are $3 and all soft back books are $2. Regardless what kind of book it was, it could have been an academic textbook or a New York Times Best Seller, the price was either $2 or $3. The books are used but it is a very affordable way to purchase great books!

Books can inspire you to do great things and they teach us that our only limit is our imagination, which just so happens to be limitless.

Are you reading any books? If so, tell me about it in the comments! I would love to read all about it, and maybe see some book recommendations! I will be starting a book series so stay tuned and Subscribe for more! 😊
